being there for someone

Paragon Paradox

The shrill of your voice gets louder;

Your river’s a poison,
That I gladly swim in.

Caught in a maelstrom,

Ideal torn to pieces,

Only the heart can be followed,

The mind merely breeds panic and caution.

So let the drum beat louder,

Don’t falsify your conscience to suit another,

Journeys end and begin on the same note,

A person has to lead in a dance between two people;
I’ve forgotten my position,
So take my hand,
I can be the strength for both of us,

Just not always for myself.

Just not when I’m on my own

Left to my own devices,
I spontaneously combust.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I can protect those I love, but I find I can allow myself to be the target. An imperfect paragon of virtue.

I'm Here For You!

My thoughts

I'll be here for you,
no matter what happens.

I'll be here for you,
up until the end and beyond.

I'll be the one to take care of you,
I'll be the one to listen to you.

I'll be the one to dry your tears.
I'll be the one to hold you tight.

I won't let anyone hurt you,
I'll be here for you.

I will be around,
just for you.

I'll be here,
until you tell me to leave.

I'll watch your back,
If you'll watch mine.

We can be there for each other,
and take care of one another.

We're best friends.
We're here for each other.

I won’t leave you behind,
I’ll take care of you!

I won’t leave you alone,
I am here for you!

Author's Notes/Comments:

Just a little poem, telling someone close to me that she's not alone, and that I'll be here to take care of her.
