Kitchen Dancing

Kitchen Dancing

The persistant buzz of the alarm
beckons me to start a new day.
Tossing my robe over my nightie,
I shuffle off to make the coffee.

Turning on the counter radio,
I rummage thru the cupboards.
Contemplating this morning's breakfast.
Cereal, pancakes, scrambled eggs?

During my preparations,
I listen for you to stir.
Anticipating the sounds of the shower.
The silence makes me think you are still sleeping.

As I head to the bedroom to wake you,
I am startled by your presence.
Standing in the doorway....
watching me.

My big burly man, so boylike.....
rough, tumbled, and sleepy looking,
in your blue and white striped robe.
But what's this, twinkle eyes?

As I slowly approach,
your arms reach for me.
With a husky voice you ask...
"May I have this dance?"

And I fall into your waiting arms.
Feeling the warmth of your body on mine.
We sashay across the lineolium floor,
ignoring the radio, making music of our own.

Lost in this magical embrace.
Lost in this moment together.
This special lil joy we dancing.
Oh baby, I love you!

A Wedding Vow

You say that you don’t like it when I spin my ring on the table heads or tails...
but girl I'm too far-gone to play that game.
Some symbols are eaten, some you put on,
but a symbol ain’t worth nothing if it can’t be free.

You’re big on promises; well, I’m big on tail.
Well I can make 'em, I can break 'em with the rest girl-
but tell me why can’t you believe I’m not playing fast and free?
How can I be true to you if I can’t be true to me?

Would you hold my hand? Would you look me in the eyes?
I don’t know where we’re going, but I’m along for the ride.
It ain’t over ‘til it’s over- maybe then we’ll know,
but ‘til then let’s just take it sure and slow.

So my talking dirty doesn’t turn you on?
Well Mary, Mary quite contrary-
if you’d really wanted Jack and Jill you wouldn’t be standing on my hill
waiting for me to come and turn you on.

Sure sex ain’t what it used to be,
but then neither are we girl, neither are we.
I can’t get enough of you naked next to me.
Guess that ain’t much of a reason, but that’s OK with me.

I know you thought you married into a good Christian home...
Hell, I thought you was Venus rising from the foam!
Maybe we were both just playing games then?
Maybe we are both just playing games?

You know I never could fill the hunger in you eyes. (Well, maybe for a while...)
Did you believe all the lies that love told you girl?
Nothing that is loving doesn’t change dear.
Nothing that is living doesn’t die.

So here we are in the garden, very naked and very ashamed,
without God and without eachother.
We eat our forbidden fruit each in sacred silence.
We break our daily bread like sister and brother.

Get a job, get a home, get a car, get a loan,
get a washer, dryer, mower... and then sell your soul.
It’s not the Futon from Ikea, it’s just me and it’s just you.
This dream-home is on mortgage, but that don’t mean that it ain’t true.

And now it seems like the fire was stolen away from me
somewhere between the bedroom and the hall.
But I can see it growing inside you every day.
What must I become to live up to this fall?

I tell you we’ll never be free again
from the wages of this death and of this sin.
Just don’t build an altar when you lay our love to rest.
Promise me you’ll never ever break this wedding vow.

Marriage ?

I just died tonight.
The pain,
just too much to bear.

She stood,
laughing at my anguish.
As she twisted the knife,
of hate.

My heart just stopped.
For a brief moment,
I just didn’t,
love her.

Though that mood soon passed.
Replaced ,
Twice fold
The pain returned.

One sided,
We’ll never learn.
Of loves anguish.
When it’s spurned.

Because I Love You ?

Marriage ?

Because I Love You ?

As I sit,
I struggle,
To express my love for you.

Putting Pen to paper,
Trying it for now.
Trying again later.

Clever words.
Some apt,
Some choice.

Subtle tender tones,
Some coy.

Elaborate a few.
But struggle in the main.
Give up in frustration.

At lasts a light.
I’ve come to realize,
I don’t love you.

2002 Poetry

The joy I feel each time WE are together

YOUR satisfying Voice fills my deep within

Thrilled and enchanted I yearn for your embrace

To have splendid moments never to be bothered Never to be wasted.

If you are a dream then I wish never to wake up

If in my dream we would have endless blissfulness

I’m more than willing to dwell on our own creation to have us a family just U, ME n our BABIES

This is if you’d accept to be my Hubby.

        Marriage Is A Wonderous Thing,

The Joys Of Love In Life It Brings.

When Special People Say I Do,

Their Lives Begin To Start Anew.

The Bride Inside Her Flowing Veil,

On Down The Aisle Will Lightly Sail.

She Stands Beside The Groom In Love,

In Front Of All And God Above.

They Face Each Other & They Speak,

They Say Their Vows To Each So Meek.

When They Finally Say I Do,

They'll Kiss & Show Their Love So True.

While In This Case Of Marriage Dear,

A Precious Child Will Soon Be Here.

No Better Parents Could There Be,

Their Love Is Shown For All To See.

So Here Upon Your Special Day,

There Isn't Much That's Left To Say.

So While In Life You Travel On,

Good Luck My Angel Dane & Don.

Let Us Dance

My sweet lady of dove,

my one true vision of love.

Let us have this dance;

one that will never end.

And we'll dance on the pillowed

clouds in the sky

and we'll dance on the devil's

fire in his eye.

Let us dance!

Long after the music dies.

My dearest "princess capulet",

my heart's forever in your debt.

Let us write this poem;

one that will never end.

And we'll write to the feathered

kites as they fly

and we'll write to the howling

wolves as they cry.

Let us write!

Long after the ink runs dry.

My beautiful bride in white,

my lasting kiss goodnight.

Let us have this love;

one that will never end.

Then we'll dance on the pillowed

clouds in the sky

as we write to the feathered

kites as they fly.

Let us love!

Long after our spirits rise.

The Two Of Us

Hearing your voice, looking at your smile

Meeting you for the first time

Captured by your inner essence

Intrigued by your mind.

Laughing at your silly jokes

My heart is filled with wanting desire

To get to know you better

Hmmm, I wonder, what else can you inspire.

Deep in thought, looking across the room

As we connect with the meeting of our eyes

I knew I had found my soul mate

God’s gift in a cracker jack world of undercover liars.

Day 2, day 3, weeks and months went by

Love is there, enhanced beyond measures

We the groom and bride.

What was two, has now become one

God has bounded, committed and blessed this union

An endless circle of love, marriage, an infinity

To flow like the waters, bloom like the flowers, stand strong like the wind, and endure through  the storms at sea.

For God’s love, enhances our love, our marriage,

It enhances our circle of life, the essence of you and me

Baby I Love You My King!!!

In This World Of temptation... I shall be water to quinch your thirst, food to nourish your needs, I am yours... I am your treasure chest, I am your everything.

Marriage ?

Was in my heart.
Though all the while......
My thoughts,
For you.

Not for a moment.
Not pain,
Nor a cross word.........
Deep affection
Sheer tenderness.
Missed moments.......
Sweet your dreams,
To dull the ache.
The pain
Too much to bear.
That should I die?
Not alone.
Nor in bad company.
Nor for lack of mutual respect
But amongst staunch friends

On the field of battle.

Sometimes I've felt I was safer in the war.
Than in this so called wedded bliss, "marriage".
