I thank you. : My sincerest apologies, for some reason I have not been able to gain access to this site. I had originally thought it was everyone, until I was a random SM post highlighting they had just posted.
I have had to use another computer to gain access, but I am not sure what the problem is, as I checked my IP, and there are no issues with it.
Sorry again, I got sidetracked. Thank you for your kind words. I have decided that is probably that I have come from the Paul Valéry school of thought, more popularly known due to WH Auden’s paraphrasing “A poem is never finished - only abandoned”.
Yo, you I can handle..: Yo, you I can handle
To me you can't hold a candle
I'm the man who can take you
I'll shake and I'll bake you
Put you in the oven
Give you some good lovin'
350 degrees
I'll do as I please..
Thank you!!: Thank you so much I'm glad you liked it. It was not a concious decision just happy accident. I'm flattered that something I wrote reminded you of it though. Good song.
I appreciate your gracious: I appreciate your gracious reply. You have a real skill with the ballad stanza---something that has eluded me since I began to write poetry in 1994.
Again, I applaud your skill: Again, I applaud your skill in deploying the ballad stanza. However, the use of "do/does/did" with an active verb weakens it. I bring it up because your verbal artistry is much better than that.
