That Is Why I Cry

Discovery in mentality

This worlds spinning

Something so great

Just the surface scratched

I understand now

Why dancing in darkness

Is so seductive to the mind

Why children are fascinated

With every living thing

Why questions are a child’s

Prerogative in life

That music so unique

It creates pictures and worlds

Relaxes and terrifies

Music is the voice of the soul

This world is so beautiful

In all its creations

That not one person or creature

Should miss this chance

I wish to fly

Amongst the clouds

Travel across the bottom of the oceans

And breathe the air of the mountains

My curiosity is never satisfied

Leaving so much in the world

I may never know or feel

So much I’m going to miss

That’s why I cry

Author's Notes/Comments:

It's funny where I got the idea for this poem from. I was just listening to 'Transatlanticism' by Death Cab For Cutie and the words just come out on the keyboard.
