Stepping to the Other Side, Goodbye

I can remember when I was young, you told me stories

The world seemed happy and nothing would happen

Back in my hometown, you spent your last years

When I was young, you shielded me from the evil

You were the last I saw before I closed my eyes

The first I see when I open them

My faith in you is forever

Tonight, you kiss me goodnight

Tomorrow you're gone

Once I couldn't imagine life without you

Now I live the unimaginable

This world is a cold place without your love to warm my heart

But even now, my fire burns brightly

I can feel your presence, like a force of wind

Loved by many, admired by hundreds

12 pages of love speak for itself

A great loss you are, but now you can rest in peace

I hope you find peace, my prayers are for you

But now I see you lay there, a knife goes through my heart

My fists clenched, holding back the tears

The knife is too sharp, its crippling me

My agent of hate consumes me

This day my world changes

It took 3 to take you out

You fought hard each round

But this time is different

You l0se your battle

You quietly fall asleep, and pass without warning

Your smile shines brightly

You never went against your fate

But how am I to go on?

You accept defeat with ease

Such a passive nature is hard to figure out

Maybe one day you will answer me

But for now, you live on in me

So here I am, your final resting place

The gunshots fired show your pride

Fought for your country, lived to tell about it

The gunmen honor you

Fold the flag and pass it on

I look down, soaked with sadness I pray to you

My love is confined, things will never be the same

Goodbye now, step to the other side

Enter a serene world with happiness

You are my guardian angel

Goodbye for now, we'll meet again
