Hour Glass

Folder:
The Present

Tell me that the phone is off it’s hook

Nobody cares to dial that stupid number anyway

We’ve all gotta have our little connections

With these aimless conversations

And shameless invitations

For a little temporary satisfaction

Isn’t that how the picture of life is painted

Or jaded with different shades of love gone wrong

This hour-glass is running out

You need to decide if you’re gonna fall

But know that it might hurt when you hit the bottom

And that the freefall just might be worth the wait

And isn’t it all worth the pain in the end

To just have someone love you

Even if just for a moment in time

This is my outlook on life

Although these are not the ideal circumstances

I’ve learned to live with myself after the mistakes I’ve made

You’ve gotta know I’ve kneeled down and prayed

For forgiveness from the games I’ve played

From the wishes that I made for change

I was made in the image that I was created to be

And I’ve stated that I hated the person that I was, but…

This hour-glass is running out

You need to decide if you’re gonna fall

But know that it might hurt when you hit the bottom

And that the freefall just might be worth the wait

And isn’t it all worth the pain in the end

To just have you love yourself

Even if just for a moment in time

Get out from the cloud you’ve step on

Fall out of the sun for a while

And let the rain fall down on you

Know that if it hurts when you hit the bottom

That the freefall was worth the wait

Just love yourself

Even if only for a second in time
