Dreaming of Dawn

The luminous sun rises,

As nighttime surely falls.

Morning cleverly disguises,

The songbird’s saddened calls.

A vibrant sherbet sky,

Ignites a lazy cotton cloud.

The air I breathe turns dry,

As the winged melody gets loud.

As sunrays kiss the treetops,

The clouds cry out in vain.

Pouring down their choral drops,

Bathing me in vivid rain.

The coldness of each droplet,

Was a contrast to the light,

But nothing can wake me up from,

My pessimistic night.

Author's Notes/Comments:

No matter how much I want to just be able to wake up and have things be ALL BETTER... IT WON'T HAPPEN. :0/

This is my favorite piece from your collection. Each verse startles with its clarity and artistic style.
