Afterlife

Afterlife

I gave up my ambition because it held me back
Now Success to me is not white and it is not black
And I may not have your money or your model wife
But I'll be a thousand times richer in the afterlife

I tore up my confession I couldn't let the truth go
And If forgiveness is freedom, I guess I'll never know
And I know you'll have your say on what's wrong an right
But I'm saving any judgement for the afterlife

I sacrificed my religion, to be closer to God
Now I'm not caught up in who's right and who's not
And waiting to be happy is bad advice
It's something I should carry to the afterlife
