DANIEL

You came into my world as an expression of  heart.
From a country and a life unfamiliar to me,
yet we find our threads are of the same cloth.
It is not to my understanding
why two individuals are brought together.

So different, yet so alike.
I can only trust in the wisdom of my Lord
that the purpose is good.
For that reason only,
can I say I love you.

I love you as freely as the wind
that breezes gently across fields of grain.
Fields in motion by the breath of God.
You may move as quickly out of my life
as you moved in.
That is not for me to know.
So while you are here I will love you.

When your departing day arrives,
my love you shall carry with you
for it is a gift eternal;
without bars or chains
with wings, to carry you on.

What a beautiful poem..
may I someday have as much detachment as this poem
describes..
