If, Then, And Again

If it were possible to walk upon the seas

Or to float among the clouds  amid a breeze

To swallow none but fat and gain no pound

Or for man to tread the earth and shake the ground

To suffer mortal wounds yet cease to die

Or better yet to win but never try

Then dreams would never ultimately end

And fantasies would cease to be pretend

Happiness would be a thought away

For you would love me more with every day

Everything that's wished would come to be

And never would you stop loving me

Again there'd be no need to force a smile

Again you'd have me swimming in denial

Again I'd try as hard to catch your eye

Again I'd wipe away the tears you cry

Again you'ed make me laugh when I am blue

And again I'd choose to fall in love with you

Ah, if dreams could come true. It's nice to have memories that are worth living over. This is a good poem, one that has a very elegant style. You take the time to order your words and thoughts, which makes for better poetry, I think. I'm glad you are posting stuff again. See you around.
