The Call

You called me on the phone,

Making sure I was okey-

Taking the time to

Let me know you were there for me;

I talk and the words suddenly pour out.

You're concerned for me-

I could tell it in your voice;

No you weren't lying like all the rest,

You called to let me know you cared.

During that long conversation,

I poured out all I could to you-

Poured out all I needed to say;

Knowing it was really for the best.

So I know there's at least one person who does care-

There could be others-

You told me all you had to say about why

You didn't want me to kill myself.

I took your advice, it was truly for the best-

Took in all your words and how concerned you were

When I recieved the call.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this one earlier today. It was because one of my friends had called me because she was concerned about my cutting and my depression. I just wanted to thank her again for being there for me when my times were rough.

It is nice of you to be so thoughtful about that person.
