DON'T EVER FALL IN LOVE

A heart is not a plaything,

A heart is not a toy,

But if you want it broken,

Just give it to a boy.

Boys love to play with things

And see how they run.

But when it comes to kissing,

They do it just for fun.

Boys never quite give their hearts,

They take you for a fool.

They wait until you give your heart,

Then they play it cool.

You think that when he whispers

"Baby I love you."

That in his heart he means it

And he will always be true.

But you'd better think it over

And don't believe it yet,

'Cause if you do, my friend,

Heartaches are all you'll get.

Don't ever fall in love,

You'll find it doesn't pay.

Although it causes broken hearts,

It happens every day.

You'll wonder where he is at nights,

You'll wonder if he's being true,

One minute you'll be happy,

The next, you'll be blue.

Then it happens, you know not why,

You'll worry every night and day.

You see, my friend, you're losing him.

Yes, it hurts, but it happens anyway.

The price you pay is high,

If I had a choice-life or death-

I think I'd rather die.

So don't ever fall in love

You'll hurt before its through.

You see, my friend, I ought to know,

'Cause I fell in love with you.
