If I were walking

on the lonely

railroad tracks

of a loveless life

and I heard in

the distance

the sounds of your train

coming

and as you approached

I saw the brightness

of your flashing

warning lights

I would

fein deafness

pull out of my pocket

shades so dark

I would be considered

legally blind

I would bend down to touch the rails

to feel the heat & vibrations

of your impending arrival

and stand

completely still,unafraid

SMASH
