The Definition of Sadness
Every second that passes
goes by slower than the last
when she made her decision -
when she let go of her past.
Tired of the frustration,
tired of the pain,
tired of cursing the sunshine
that sliced through the pouring rain.
But now her pain and anger
has become a gaping hole in her heart.
Yet she keeps reminding herself
that this is a new beginning, a new start.
But every action, every movement
and every aspect of her day
is distracted by the thought
