Soldiers

Soldiers, fierce and strong

Courageous and brave

Yet still human

Soldiers, trained to fight

Trained to protect

Though still people

Soldiers, some given respect

Some, none at all

But still serve

Soldiers, fighting daily

On the battlefield and at home

Most come home

Yet some never make it back.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I have family and friends who are both active duty and veterans. My paternal grandfather received a purple heart in WWII. I support the military, wholeheartedly. This little poem is to honor those who fight to keep us safe.

And so they fight to keep our

And so they fight

to keep our country feared

and free of thoughts

challenging our resolve

or our strength.

We are the greatest

nation every was. Oh

Ozimandias, we're back.
