Lori

I know you.

You don't think I do, but I do.

I've eaten at your table,

slept in the same bed,

looked into the same eyes,

believing the same lies.

I have looked into the mirror and refused to see,

everything, even me.

I am familiar with you.

You think that I'm alien, but I'm not.

I have found solace in inappropriate places,

lied for the cause,

hid for the comfort of it,

harbored the same secrets,

and conceived that it was the best thing for

everyone, even me.

I live on your soil.

You think that I'm foreign, but I'm not.

I have nurtured the impossible,

planted the seeds,

delighted in the mystery,

taken comfort in the history,

and absorbed the same sickness,

addressing, only ~ his needs.
