Refraction

Poems

If I saw who I was, I'd kill myself.
Life guards us by restricting the view of our own exteriority to the reflections of light refracted off polished glass.

If I was my own best friend, I'd kill myself.
Life guards us by restricting the view of our own interiority to the reflections of own mind refracted off polished tongue.

We are only fragments of light and pigments
We are only what we express to the world

If I saw my heart, I'd quake with redemption
I guard myself by looking at pigments cowering behind sub par

If I saw my beauty, I'd never lie again
I guard myself by excluding myself from myself in life

Love breaks polishing and refining, morphing and distorting
Picked raw bone gnashed gnarled love
See your beauty through the eyes that love you

"Well, it's love, but not as we know it."
