There once was a man named Jack

Who you may know from in the day back 

He worked as an actor 

Had no great impact, er

For his acting did not get a plaque 

But his acting didn't stop 

Became famous for playing a cop

He just wanted the facts 

The perps couldn't relax

Knew he'd always end up on top

TV then was not like today 

There were things you couldn't say

Not on my favorite show 

Not by the main character Joe 

If Joe said them he'd be gone, bye Friday 

What a guy! All the crime he'd be preventin'

For his autograph a postcard I sent in

But he never wrote back

Was disappointed in Jack

Hoped he'd do 3 to 5 in San Quentin
