The Gamble

Incurable romantic

Thats me, I'm told!

Sad songs

More precious then gold.

A fairytale wedding

Ended up a flop

Get up, get with it

For life doesnt stop.

There's no time for sorrow,

For sadness nor tears

As quickly as they come

So do the years.

Before you can blink

Your eyes once or twice

The captain of the table

Has rerolled the dice.

You see life is a gamble,

So I have learned

And we cannot sift through it

Wishing back what we yearned.

Have a moment of silence

For that which is lost,

Pay your respects

But don't pay the cost.

Pick up the pieces

Get on with your life

Be strong, be determined

But stay out of strife.

well what can I say about this one.... it was marvelous.... and I loved it.... but then I don't think that I have ever read anything that you have written that I did not like.... my favorite part of this was....a fairytale wedding ... ended up a flop... I was there...LOL... and it did flop " BIG TIME"... but then that was in the past.... thank you for letting me think about that again... it was a good day even though it ended up a mistake.... i think that we should never forget the things in our past lives that have hurt us... we should just as you say... get up and get with it.... it is not the falling down that counts .... but the getting back up.... thank you again for a wonderful poem to read.... it was great... have a good day...
