Shelter & Storm (day 9)

This place was a shelter, now it’s a storm
The words have changed,
now the water doesn’t run clear

This place was springtime, now it’s frozen over
It’s amazing the difference
a few miles can make in a world

I sweep myself out of my chaotic brain
Laugh at myself for a while
But then when I return
I’m a fool again
grasping at a ghost

This place was a shelter, now it’s a storm
I’m dripping with rain and regret
Soaked through with my best intentions
but it still wasn’t enough
