Lady Of Lourdes

Oh my Lady of Lourdes,

look down upon me,

spare me a smile

and your warm sympathy.

Judge me not so

as I seem in this life,

and give me the courage

to bear all my strife.

Lend me your shoulder

to weep on, until

I've shouldered my burden

and conquered my will.

This life is a trial

like others I've had,

to test but my soul

both for good or for bad.

I hope I've improved it

much more than the past.

And of all incarnations,

let this please be the last.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Yes, I visited Lourdes, in France, just over the Pyrenees from Spain... the devotion of her followers is awesome!
