How Could He?

Grasping your head;

Holding your heart.

Memories subside;

Dragging you into the dark .

Your face torn up;

Crying tears of pain.

Shaking;

Convulsing;

Craziness let in.

You turn your head,

Thinking you saw his face;

Wondering how it could have lead to this.

Going crazy,

Blinded,

Mesmerized by his charm.

You thought he was the one,

By the words he said.

The more he fades,

The more your world seems to cave in.

Trying to breathe,

Drainage seizes into emptiness.

Curled up in the corner,

Rocking on your knees,

Looking over pictures of you and him.

You can't understand why it was so hard for him to live.

Were you not enough?

Could you have stopped it?

You fall to the floor;

Heavy sobs of heartache escape.

Crying out;

Agony gripping its claws into your pain.

He had no right to take his life.

Why was he so selfish?

You ask him this every night,

After crawling into your cold bed.

But you never hear his answer—

Just the silence of the dead.
