we were one of a kind type babies

two cats are born with lime green fur

we got magnets

              we made a field

there wasn't no mileage far enough

we were drawn

             you and i

we were strong



the past is like a snarling mouth

                                  and a tail

chase around and around

can't catch it, motherfucker

and now you're out of breath and weary
