My past was ugly.

My past was absurd.

I don't really think

I'll ever be cured.



My heart was broken.

My mind confused.

My dreams were shattered.

My life abused.



There was this guy

Who I thought was "the one",

But it just turned out

He was just having fun.



I was played like a fool.

I was played like a game.

I believed every word.

It brought me to shame.



I'm so afraid now

I'll get hurt again.

I don't know what to do.

I can't trust a man.



But something happened

I didn't expect.

I met this guy

Who showed me respect.



I think something clicked

With this guy that I met

Cuz that is a day

I will never forget.



My heart did a flip

When I realized

This guy was real.

It wasn't a lie.



This guy was perfect

In every single way.

He knew what to do.

He knew what to say.



Look what I found

When he found me.

This guy is you.

How can it be?



You came into my life

And made me love again.

I never thought I could,

But now I know I can.



It seems like a dream;

The way that I feel.

But I look into your eyes

And remember that it's real.



You've told me straight.

You've told me true.

You said you liked me

Like I like you.



You make me so happy.

You'll never make me cry

Unless you break my heart,

And tell me it's a lie.



Please don't break my heart.

Don't make me relive my past.

I love you so much

And I want that love to last.
