This night must last forever

for I just can't let you go

and I'm begging on my knees to you

to stay, for I love you so

For now my heart is cold with dread

and now I have no pride at all

As tears roll down this soulful face

dread sorror comes to call

I never thought you'd go away

I never thought you could

I thought our love was steady

oh I never thought you would

But you say, you don't love me any more

and that you cannot stay

so I'm begging on my knees to you

just stay one more day

You say you'll always be my friend

and if I need you, just to call

well now I'm saying, I love and need you

that is all

But still you say you're leaving

so this night can never end

cause I want you for my lover

I don't need you for a friend

So turn all the time, now backward

don't let the dawning bring the light

don't let the stars stop shining

don't bring an end to night

But as I sit here now and plead

you still say, you don't love me any more

and now I know it's final

for you're walking out the door
