I came home late from work one night

and all the windows were shining bright

and two shadws moved against the wall

and I watched this awful sight

I watched in horror as you kissed

my neighbor and my friend

how long has this been going on

I couldn't comprehend

I flung the door wide open

and of course you jumped apart

with a guilty looks upon your face

for you knew it broke my heart

How could you do this thing to me

as you see my glistening tears

you were my husband for so long

and had been for years and years

It was something that just happened

as you begged me to forgive

but you can't see inside my soul

for that scene I'll oft relive

For dark shadows up on a wall

always tell a tale

you have to go, you cannot stay

and you can beg to no avail

I thought our love was special

I thought we had it all

until I saw two shadows merge

upon my kitchen wall

Now my days are lonely ones

and filled with so much pain

now I can't trust anyone

and never will again

And as too my untrustworthy friend

her family also feel apart

for her husband just packed up and left

for she also broke his heart

Well, now you two can be together

but you say it will never be

it was just a fling an awful thing

cause you're still in love with me

You keep asking for forgiveness

but you can't look me in the eye

I will not trust you ere again

and won't listen to your lies

Now four hearts have been broken

and sad memories I recall

that night so filled with pain and hurt

and I see again

as night time pulls the curtain

two shadows 'gainst the wall
