FAREWELL FAREWELL

I knew this day that you'd be leaving

I saw it there upon your face

the final journey that you'd be taking

another time, another place

I know you suffered awesome pain

I heard it oft time in your voice

I knew this time that you'd be leaving

and this time you had no choice

My love for you is like no other

I've loved you so much all my life

but you've suffored so many years now

and the pain cuts like a knife

God is good, for he will take you

and all your hurting wil lbe gone

you'll go and find your marble mansion

and you'll hear the angels song

Tell me now, my little sister

will you sometimes think of me

your little hands on earth were feeble

but now you're spirit's been set free

Today I saw the black hearse rolling

out to your final resting place

and as I sit here in the silence

I still see your smiling loving face

Tell Mom and Daddy, that I love them

and that soon, I'll be with them

when Jesus takes my spirit homeward

and forgives my aweful sins

Farewell, farewell, you know I'll miss you

you've brought such joy through the years

my heart is breaking as your leaving

and I'm blinded by my tears

Now I look upward toward bright heaven

is that your spirit rising high

I know now, that you are happy

but I'll mourn for you until I die

As you fly high, up their in glory

oh, all the wonders that you'll see

so place a candle there in the window

for to light the way for me

Soon you'll be singing songs of Jesus

as you praise His holy name

and as your spirit soars ever upward

I know

my life will never be the same
