LEST WE FORGET

Bouregard and General Lee

and Stonewall Jackson too

Braxton Bragg and old Joe Johnston

just to name a few

They are our hero's them and more

who fought against the blue

sons of the south and oh so brave

who to the cause were true

Of tattered flags and cannon balls

and faded coat's of grey

of rebel yells and rifle shells

and discord every day

death and pain and hunger

to them were nothing new

the blond young boy of just sixteen

the old man bent and shrewd

the new recruit, the life long vet

with shoulders laced with gold

all sang the praises of the south

as they fought through storms and cold

Old Jubal Early, Hampton too

and don't forget Brevard

they did not live or die in vein

they had their just reward
