As I travel down lifes tangled path

I wonder what to say

for Great Spirit of the red man

will you hear me as I pray

I need to walk a true path

give my spirit to the wind

give my soul to Him that made me

take control of who I've been

Make me one with the mighty restless wolf

keep me clean and clear

let me walk the path of lonliness

with my brother, the wild deer

Keep my heart always free and tender

and rebuke me when I cry

let me always stop to help a friend

and always make me try

Help me keep a true path

make me one with old rivers and clear lakes

let my thoughts always aim toward you

keep my heart clean for my own sake

please keep me strong and sturdy

so I can protect my herd

five me wings to fly the skies

give me wisdom like the old old owl bird

Give me sunlight when there's shadows

from the bright orb, brother sun

and let sister moon carress me

when my long day's work's been done

Let me walk the straight and narrow

all the long days of my life

let me be good to my children

and to my husband, a sweet and loving wife

In this journey we call life

let me decieve no woman or no man

let me always be a careing friend

and lend a helping hand

Let me walk the straight and sacred path

let me take the path that's higher

let me wander by the waterfall

and rest beside the sacred fire

Oh Great Spirit, I hear your voice upon the wind

I hear it in the song of birds

let me walk in beauty, just like you

and let me too, be heard

I need your strength, for I am weak

I need your wisdom to keep me traveling on

I need all things from you, Great Spirit

for I am here alone

Let me be wise and teach me well

let me see your beauty in the sunset sky

the strength in soaring eagles

the mystery of a fire fly

Keep my ears always sharp

to hear your pleasant word

and never let it be said by me

I had not heard

Keep me with cleansing visions

all in pearly white

and let the moon be bright and full

to light my night

Let the roads all  go down hill

and let no bolders grow

and let nothing interfere

to make my going slow

And when my star falls from the sky

and it's time to leave this realm

let your fastest horse come for me

and lead me well
