Ghost Hunt

Ghost Hunt

Naïve young kids

Messing around

Late night walking

Upon holy ground

Not really expecting much

Maybe a fright

If only we knew

Tonight was the night

Strolled through the graveyard

With torches lit brightly

Watching where we walk

Treading so lightly

We all stand silently

After coming to a stop

It was so so quiet

You could hear a pin drop

You could hear the trees whisper

And the occasional owls cry

It was time to make contact

Or at least have a try

One of us got the courage to speak out loud

“If there’s anyone here, please let us know”

“Tap us on the shoulder”

“Or a stone you could throw”

We stood in anticipation

Daring even to start breathing

I heard very quiet crying

Like someone was grieving

“Guys listen!”

“I hear a voice”

They could hear it too now

But not through choice

It got louder and louder

Then just suddenly stopped

“That’s it, I’m done”

And off one of us shot

I don’t know why

But when one starts to run

We all start sprinting

Like someone has a gun

We ran back to the car

And all jumped in

We all started laughing

With Goosebumps on our skin

Loved it! I'm a big fan of the paranormal that's why this one stuck out to me. I liked it a lot. Reminds me of the ghost hunting days as a teenager, lol. Great Poem!
