Fallen Angel

You’re supposed to be there

To guide in times of need

Where were you on this one?

My dysfunctional creed

It’s all over and done with

No way to return

She was only a young woman

Her face, burned in my mind

I’ve lost my faith

I’ve lost my mind

I’ve lost my trust in you for all time

All this pain

All this torture

You’re my fallen angel

I saw her once

When she first moved in

She took my eye

She blew my mind

I had to see her

Again and again

Following her

Late at night

I’ve lost my faith

I’ve lost my mind

I’ve lost my trust in you for all time

All this pain

All this torture

You’re my fallen angel

It had been a couple of months

Since she entered my life

I couldn’t talk to her

I wish she was my wife

I still followed her

Down the streets

She had no idea

She is who my heart beats

I’ve lost my faith

I’ve lost my mind

I’ve lost my trust in you for all time

All this pain

All this torture

You’re my fallen angel

Then came that fateful day

I saw it all

She crossed the street

And had that fall

No-one could get there

Not even me

My heart stopped beating

As I fell to my knee

The car came cruising

Far too fast

She wanted to get up

Too much time had passed

She had just found her balance

When the car hit

She lifted into the air

I was stood in despair

When she hit the ground

She looked a mess

I could sense her soul rising

Not now in distress

Where were you on this one?

Why didn’t you save her?

I ran over and looked at her face

“I love you” is all I could whisper

I’ve lost my faith

I’ve lost my mind

I’ve lost my trust in you for all time

All this pain

All this torture

You’re my fallen angel

Excellent the way this piece evokes emotion. You can feel your pain as you observe this person being hit by the car. I love emotional pieces!
