@ 27.055 MHz: Ad Astra; An Ancient, Homoerotic Poet, Receives The Muse's Commission

"Write of them, Straton, that young couple whom I have brought

"into your line of sight, in order to inspire your lines of verse.

"Weave your words into contours like to their slender limbs; and

"present the beauty of their homoerotic desire as they

"present, in its surging, the gift of love to each other, without the

"least regard to the prejudices of haters and old prudes.

"Two beautiful adolesdent boys, naked together within a copse of

"trees, with a carpet of wildflowers beneath the grass-stained soles of

"their feet; and from the meadow beyond, they have plucked the

"most fragrant blossoms and have woven them into the tresses of

"their long hair that cascades well below their shoulderblades.

"Their moistened lips and eager tongues meet in a kiss;

"their hands rapidly wander over their uncovered torsos, as

"their frontal gnomons, throbbing with the rhythms of

"their accelerated pulses. touch.  This is a most pleasurable stance

"they have perfected over the several years of their attachment.

"They are sixteen and fifteen years old, respectively; and, despite the

"prejudiced opinion of haters and envious old men,

"these young lovers are old enough to understand their own natures; and to

"love according to those natures, and to express their innate desires in the

"manner instinctively suggested and provided by those natures.

"These exquistely lovely, and happily naked, boys

"have been cursed and insulted simply for holding hands;

"they have been chased and assaulted for sharing a kiss.

"I call and commission you, Straton, to write of and about

"them.  Your poems will not spare them from the hatreds of the

"unthinking and the unsouled.  Your words, even, will be

"marginalized; hidden from some readers by expurgation.

"But those who feel the same affections---and who

"will, themselves, be shunned, beaten, even murdered by the

"self-righteous who deem them as subversive---

"will find their way to the great work I will inspire and

"draw from you.  It will flow---will come---out of you

"like the sevenfold surge, after the peak of pleasure is

"achieved, and the sweetness within you is released upon a

"trajectory that seeks its splashdown in proximity to a

"homoerotic lover . . ."

With urgency and angelic

With urgency and angelic eloquence, the Muse's voice ignites the page and validates love in all its manifestations. In this crucial series, love translates into joy in spite of all efforts to crush it. An ecstatic release for body, mind and spirit. Love lives!

Thank you so very much.  I

Thank you so very much.  I had thought the title might be a little "pver the top," and if you agree, I can change it to something different; but for right now . . . . And your phrase, crucial series is a validation, that will continue to inspire the series well beyond what I had originally hoped.  For that, I am so very grateful.

The poem wasn't shy or

The poem wasn't shy or ashamed or cryptic while the voice was commanding and straightforward, so the title fits. In this one, I feel, and this is just my opinion: Say it loud and proud! I love the idea of the POV being the Muse, a type of higher self one doesn't argue with. Very nice.
