@ 27.225 MHz: Spring Poem; Response to Poems By Allets And Patriciajj

Meteorology sometimes sounds like "hocus-pocus";

but human sentience cannot mislead the wiser crocus;

and Grandma's wise lilac bush as well.  Plants are not ignorant,

but are created to be quietly, wholly, cognizant

of Spring's approach, and the meaning of its direction---

away from mere circunstances' depressive focus---

pointing toward the Truth of Resurrection,

and bestowing upon the change of seasons

the finest of purposes, and mysteries, and reasons.

Author's Notes/Comments:

In an interview about his beliefs, the great British actor, Peter Cushing, stated that God had built the Truth of Resurrection into the seasons themselves.  He suggested that all seasons, in their predictable and reliable recurrence, are witnesses of the Eternity for which this life is merely preparatory, a dress rehearsal for a felicitous Eternity..

My Grandparents' small rural property, complete with a creek to bisect it, a plank bridge over the creek, and a wildflower meadow west of the creek, had---as one of its centerpieces (along with the iron trellis, the pumpbox sjrrounded by flowers, and the robin egg's blue corners, visible, of the foundation slab beneath their cottage)---a magnificent lilac tree (bush?), in which a couple of my Easter baskets had been hidden.  It always represented Spring's arrival and the Paschal Feast to me.  In my old age, when I think of the beauty of Heaven, those thoughts are very much affected by the memories of my Grandparents' home.

Loving the "wise lilac bush"

Loving the "wise lilac bush" and the earth as a demonstration of resurrection. A profound and surging viewpoint, with some fascinating notes and heartwarming memories as well. A beautiful addition to the challenge.
