Holding on to love 
Holding on to the light
Letting go of silly wants
Say good bye my love.
Hello my heart,
Where have you been?
Too wrapped up in the seduction to see
You were meant for me.

Time passes and I want to say
Love, I have been unkind
I have been half untrue
And I want today, 
to give my whole heart to you
In your world I am queen
In his I am a goddess
And I would rather rule 
your kingdom of reality
Than his whole heaven of fantasy.

Our love is real,
of the earth 
solid and grounding
Sustaining, challenging 
And rewarding
It's depths finds new lengths 
for anchors weighed everyday
The world was made for us to enjoy
To live, to nurture, 
to be fully constrained
To know every limit 
and every contingency

Wild and  listless longing 
Has its place and time
A certain charm of it bodes well
And heavenly the thought until 
I lose touch with you
Then it hurts like hell 
I want never to lose you
In any one's kingdom,
I can't rest in someone else's shadow
I can't glow in someone else's flames
I can't be strong and safe 
without your embrace

I catch my breath 
to gaze upon you 
more often than I admit
Our passionate kisses 
set me on fire still
And I suspect this forever around,
always will.
With a few fiery battles
And slamming doors 
A desperate need to un-miss you 
A few un-stolen moments 
and a million milestones
We'll banish the shadows
In our war torn hearts,
We'll flash across our forever 
And write them in the stars!
