Rope-a-dope,

Hope against hope.

Sittin' in the corner,

Catchin' my breath,

Pounded down..

By another slugfest.



How much longer can I last?

In this ring with me,

And I

Divided.

A split decision,

Still undecided.



Heart beats head?

Now beats later?

This beats that?

Another round

Of self-abuse?

I think too much,

Yet have no clue.



If I beat myself,

Do I win or lose?
