pearl among men

Pearl, was a pearl among men
as soft

and beautiful,

as the morning light

Her luminance - required no introduction

And whenever

she floated into your presence,
words

were of no necessity

And if any were spoken, they would fall

to earth as dross,

like broken Champagne glasses

that fall to

earth, when at dawn

angel

voices announce and toast the sun

Born as a rose among

thorns,

she was a splash of life

to

my desert landscape

Land of dull gray

cacti,

parched and barren

of

living things,

But scorpions and snakes

I often wondered, how could

such beauty

exist

in such a place

as this?

But I was happy to welcome

a flower
to my barren wilderness

Though I never did come near,

to

answering this question

For when a glory arrives,

out

of a barren thicket,
one

does not ask,

from whence do you come?

But rather - his fibers are drawn

to her,

like all the stars

in a galaxy

drawn to the center of gravity

Curious to know,

the object

of their magnetism

And so it was, with Pearl

that I was drawn

to her

Drawn - like a wandering moth

in the night

Drawn - by a luminous

arc

Drawn, by nature

to a false

and dangerous paradise
