Pride to Shame

I look at you, a heap of nothingness
To afraid to really be yourself
Do you want to be somebody else?
Are you desperate for something more?

You try so hard to be wanted
Your life full of broken promises
While deep inside you're bleeding
I see the pain dwelling in your eyes

When nothing feels alright
When no one's there to save you
Silence comes like darkness in the night
Now you're dying in vain, a burning ball of flame
Gone from pride to shame, and we're all to blame

There's no one to hurt you where you are now

Fire Alert

They set themselves on fire and burned to death...metaphorically, I hope. ~~Darkness comes like silence in the night~~ I miss the poetry, the refreshed image of night and silence and the relationship between them. The poetry lives inside the newness in the phrases - I like this poem - Lady A
