I'd only drown when the azure meets,
envelopes me and swallows down to
bludgeon ground with fleshy mallet
made of teeth that greet the current,
like a traveled man with thumb cocked out
on roads like swift tides in a place
he's never been before circumstance
insisted that he move somewhere new.
