Forsaken Trust

Hurt, bleeding in the street.

Can't trust the people you meet.

The world is full of lies,

full of people with their cries.

Who will be your friend,

when you know they can crush you in the end?

So hard to build back trust,

but slowly it has to be a must.

Can't live in the world without a friend

or you can end up dying lonely in the end.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Ever lose trust in a person close to you? I'm sure we all have and it's hurt us a lot but we have to do what we know is best and move on. Written 2002. I got the title from a friend Clint.

That was a great peom. I do think you are beginning to know how it feels. It took more than just a few people to make me feel the way I do though. You weren't the only one and so I don't want you to think that it was just you. The only one who was able to hurt me in a way I will never recover from was Gary. I've realized that sometimes pain can turn out to be a good thing. I'm just waiting to see what the good thing is out of that situation. I believe I already know what the good thing was out of the situation between you and I. Catch you later.

I've lost trust in humanity, yes. I don't hand out trust, but make people earn it and even then I never fully trust anyone. I find everyone betrays me and lets me down whether they mean to or not. It hurts less when they're not so close and I think you understand what I'm talking about after reading this splendid piece.

I love this poem and can relate to it a lot from experience. You're right, you have to move on, but it doesn't mean it goes away.. it sux when this happens. oh well, awesome poem though.

I totally know what you mean. Sometimes, you just have to forgive people and move on you know? Just live life... and in the end it'll all turn out alright... right? Love that poem gurl!
