Things Slip Away

July 2021

What if I end up with nothing to compare love to?

At one point the thought of being in your company was something I'd love to,

Went through tough times to be able to say,

Those days are so long gone away,

A daily record that my mind played, your face,

Crazy that you were a past I didn't wanna erase,

Moved to a new place, if I no longer make sense please forgive,

At night I can't sleep and during the day I barely live,

To be fair she did take way too long to get over,

Almost as long as it took me to stay nicotine sober,

If I'm the guy you go for, gimme a call,

Promise that we'll have one month to remember, please call,

Life stalls, but that could change on a dime,

I'm tired of loneliness but I'm way more tired of wasted time,

The same old rhyme, just written in a different way,

Saddest truth of life is things slip away.

Very lyrical, with rhymes

Very lyrical, with rhymes that work without feeling forced. Strong flow from end to end, and i can't help but agree, "the saddest truth in life is things slip away." Life is beautiful, but is reasonably the heaviest price we pay for such beauty.
