GOD ALMIGHTY

GOD ALMIGHTY

To ALLAH ALMIGHTY (Pantoum Style)

Allah, God Almighty, Heavenly Father,

Eons since the quest for HIM began

Searching for The Truth, many falter

The unknown realm and its fathomless span

Eons since the quest for HIM began

Who is HE?

The unknown realm and its fathomless span

This world HIS image or a reality?

Who is He?

He Who commanded “Be” and created all

The world His image or reality?

Worship none, save ME, or you will fall

He Who commanded “Be” and created all

The Heavens, Earth Evening and Morn

Worship none, save ME or you will fall

Alas! , Mankind deceived, Idolatry is born

The Heavens, Earth Evening and Morn

Mere reflections of HIS immense power

Alas! , Mankind deceived, Idolatry is born

Yet unable to exist, without HIS mercy’s shower

Mere reflections of HIS immense power

He forbids and many do not listen

Yet unable to exist, without HIS mercy’s shower

Some who heed will surely glisten

He forbids and many do not listen

Those worshipping Idols, and drifting a far

Some who heed will surely glisten

Other slaves of desires, they wage a lost war

Those worshipping Idols, and drifting a far

Searching for The Truth, many falter

Other slaves of desires, they wage a lost war

Allah, God Almighty, Heavenly Father

Author's Notes/Comments:

"I have written this poem pantoum style. It is about the philosophical quest of GOD Almighty as He has been sought over the ages by great thinkers of different religions. Where is HE? Who is HE? Is it that All we see a reflection of HIM or is this world a reality. How different religions over time have sought HIS Reflections and pursued them to be their gods. How HE describes HIMSELF to be THE ONE AND ONLY and promises no mercy to those who practice idolatry. While reading this philosophy I was impressed by Plotinus (204-270 C.E.). A book “Haqiqat-e-Tasawaf” (THE TRUTH ABOUT MYSTICISM) by S. Zakir Hussain Shah an Islamic scholar moved me to the extent that I knew I had to write this poem and post it for your kind reviews."

So many seek God from inward leading out when all the while he is dwelling within us. Even the staunchest atheist he is there in the fiber of that very being dwelling and having his purpose. All things good come from the hand of God all love comes from God so without him life would be purposeless
and a dark swirling eddy of nothing spinning around a gaping hole of senseless conflict and misunderstanding. Human flesh is but a mask our souls wear so we can do what we each were sent here to do upon this earth to do. Learn without eyes, remember without memory and love as deeply as we can with flawed hearts that are constantly battered by an ego crazed mind. Life for most is just a lot of hard math. When you find the threads for the reason it makes it all well worth living, even the heart ache even the pain, even the senseless killing and mayhem. sincerely Melissa Lundeen.

God is most compassionate and most merciful...as the very first line of The Holy Qur'aan says. He is not unkind or unjust to anybody. All the children of Adam and Eve. It is we ourselves who qualify for Paradise or Hell. God does not say at any place in any scripture that He is merciless or that He will not show mercy to any of His creations. Why blame God for what we think, do and write on the scrolls of history? Mystics believe in God's love and compassion...whereas mechanical-minded people ascribe to Him attributes which do not reflect His Eternal Glory.

The quest of God has been immemorial. I agree. But God is there in every heart...polish the mirror of the soul and the divine light (Allahoo Noorus Samawaate Wal Arz) will illumine you. Convert the mirror into a diamond...it takes time but it is possible as Mansoor Al Hallaj proved.
