Mask of Life.

Take a good look into my eyes, see if you can see through the disguise. You see as you wish, you see what I show. I cover my bloody fists as I battle my foes. Love has become absent as I forgot how to give. I have fallen in Madness and I can't even live. The rthyms of pain, flow with my heart. Slow painful beats, why did this start. This never ending gray is too much to bear. I'm dying inside, I'm beginning not to care. Within my walls pain is a privilege and death is a blessing, for my whole life I've lived this, it would seem like I'm resting. You see an awkward spec walking down the street, but you'll never understand him. He's too complicated to see. My heart that was once infinite as the mind, shrunk to a black hole sucking in darkness, begging to cry. This flesh I wear is suffocating, how desperately I wish to leave. I am free of society, but I am not free from these chains. I reside in a solitary hole, please set me free.

"I am free from society, but

"I am free from society, but I am not free from these chains."

I don't believe we can escape all of the chains, but I do believe we can break many - even most. Some are within ourselves, bound by our own minds. We must learn to be a Houdini towards our own insecurities and baggage.

This was a really strong piece of raw emotion and introspection. A cry outward and inward for help.
