The Product of a Misspent Youth

Folder:
2002

Doing what I can to make it through the day,

Wondering how I could have become so uncouth,

Chasing lovely ladies until the break of day;

It's all the product of a misspent youth.

Smoking like a freight train when th going gets rough,

Drinking like a fish on hard liquor that's smooth,

Looking for satisfaction because I can't get enough;

It's all the product of a misspent youth.

I've had my fair share of ups and downs,

Of happy moments and of heartaches too,

Wide grins turned into narrow frowns;

It's all the product of a misspent youth.

I've had friends that have been at my side,

Some have left me behind, some have been true,

Some have been with me when I've laughed and cried;

It's all the product of a misspent youth.

When I was 17, I struck out on my own,

Not liking the world, wanting to paint it black;

I could have been sitting on a golden throne,

But I like my life as it is, and I'll never look back.

I'll still do what I can, because I'm still a man,

But I'm the product of a misspent youth.

I think many of us feel that they've 'mispent' their youth. I could probably say that and i'm barely there. But i think what most ppl try to do is 'live' life, whatever that is supposed to mean. But at the end of the day if you can say that you enjoy your life then that is all that should matter. Regrets are so common, we barely realize them anymore. Lovely work!
