Unspoken Love

Folder:
Poems

I keep my distance, but you still catch my eye.

I remember a time when you were mine.

A stupid, selfish, nieve teen.

I felt the words you said when you looked my way.

Saying more with lips and no breath to speak words.

Speak not for words mean nothing.

Just your motions painted emotions.

I heard your love, I saw your life.

I smelled your passion, I tasted your thoughts.

I felt your power.

Can't you see what you mean to me?

Love like yours is few and far between.

But cease, for tanted love is torture.

That bite that once sent shivers down my back

has now unleashed its plague upon me.

At first, so sweet intoxication

eventually showed it's painful head.

And now I'm paralized from the mind down.

Blind, deaf, and dumb am I.

Why must you leave me in such a uforic state?

Dependant on your ecstacy and now forced to sobriety.

For curiousity kept our fire alive.

Truth exstinguished the flame.

The spark my nose once had has diminished.

My sight is fogged and dimmed.

My skin is numb and without stimulation.

What if the ringing in my ears never stops?

And once a finer pallet, my taste has retired.

Is the pain of loss worth the joy of perfection?

How do you weigh love or compare to pain?

I rather would have slept with one eye open

than to partake in such deep slumber.

Just quench my thirsty soul with a stare

so I can feast upon your essence.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is old but it goes out to all the hurtin' hearts. The only mistake we made was loving the wrong person too hard.

Know you are not a big fan of this one, but I really like it. There's a lot of quotable lines in it "feast upon your essence" and others.. Just see that you put a piece of yourself into the writing and I appreciate that. It's good you should upload more in here. =)
