In times of trouble and despair

I have a friend who is always there

He never leaves or neglects my need

He’s always around when I plead



My friend He is a King you know

He came from heaven to earth below

That I might live a life that’s free

And with Him in eternity be



Alone my friend never leaves me

Always by my side is He is found

This Lord to who I am honor bound

Is one on whom I can always depend



My friend is also my Brother true

He desires to be a friend to you too

So take His hand and walk with Him

You can be sure He will stay with you



Jesus is that friend and Brother

In my life there can be no other

Friend or Brother that loves me so

I believe he will never let me go
