In My Secret Garden

My green wall of cedar hedge

Is over twenty feet high

It protects me,  projects me

To a world where love is nigh.

And in my secret garden

All my inhibitions pall.

I shed my coat of armour.

Peace and beauty now enthral.

There are pathways beckoning

Where little treasures await.

There are sun-dials and statues

A waterfall  is innate.

There are paintings hung about

Depicting every season.

Bird houses ,bird baths and chimes

Attract birds, with good reason.

The shady nook has a bench

Quaint and strong and inviting.

At night my secret garden

Glows in soft lantern lighting

I love my secret garden

It expresses my desires.

If invited, do enter

For love and peace it inspires.
