Red-wings
My cedars are full
Of Red-winged Blackbirds!
What a splash of colour
Such contrast!
They are sheltering from snow sprinkles,
Tiny freezing rain pellets
And icy winds
This April morning,
Surprised that Nature lured them here
Under false pretenses.
I have never seen them here before
And this visit may be the last.
They do not like this betraying blast-
Neither do I
But, welcome friends.
