Happy Haven

Happy the tree

Whose boughs entwine

To form a little haven.

Though winter weather

May bluster and blow

It shelters those not craven.

Many a bird

Has spent the hours

Snugly in the tree's cradle

Despite the rages

Of winter's worst storms-

What ever they may ladle.

Happy the yard

That boasts such tree

Cosseted in a recess

Forever content

To be used like this.

Happy tree of such noblesse!
