Between the 2 snowy craggy peaks
lies soft moonlight..
a gauzy shawl on bony shoulders.

.. has lost weight.. is now a crescent

Light ribbons from the moon
do the Buddhist shrine festoon

*

New moon with her smile..
a heralding of
happy beginnings

The cow jumped over the moon
and dropped there her agonized moo

FULL MOON PITCHER

The full moon poured pitcher
after pitcher of cream from
a coconut into the ecstatic
sea.. and the sea...
the sea silvered it all.

(to Ruth Thomas, nonagenarian
peace educator and socialist
like Christ 1910 to nearly 2009)

FULL MOON NIGHT

Full moon night
when the mist was so slight
it was a translucent lid
to the moon's bright eye
One didn't mind a tall
car in the drivein
in front
for it did not block
the show
.. nor the ocean waves
of ecstasy
as the moon opposed the sun
.. as nataraj and his
mate.. prepared to dance

SILVER KITE

Tied to the floating moon
many beams of moonlight
Many strings has this one
glowing silver kite..

Turning around our vision..
to see the moon
as an only child
of infinite parents  9

THE SMALL CONTAINS ALL

The acorn nut encapsulates
  one thousand oak woods
Small eyes can hold the moon.
A lake reflects
  the Milky Way's starfire
and every heart holds God entire

WHITEWASH

The moon by sea did bleach
the gold sands of the beach
and did on highland blanch
the crimson petaled branch

-saiom shriver-

Footnote: The moon's sand bleaching lasts longer than her petal blanche.
Thank you to Tennessee Williams for rhyming branch and blanche.

Silver Kite is to David
Silberkleit.. whose quote
is paraphrased below:
"Study clouds at night. Watch them glide past the moon, backlit by the perfect wattage. You'll discover
moonlit cloud canyons only visible at night."

These are all wondrous . . . I was particularly awestruck by the inspired imagery of the first one. Ah, you have the gift . . . Patricia
