don't with mowers parse parsley
nor bomb poppies
nor purchase antipeople papers
Neath stars peeping
they plant papayas,
and peppers.
Their pulpit is poplars
not the papal but the popular.*
They sanctuary
unwanted puppies
of stray pappies
and to the homeless
they serve piping hot
peach pies
* not in the sense of ephemeral fame
but what the people want
FOX GLOVES
One might think
that the foxglove
had only 5 petals
his five fingers
to enfold
but he has
petals manifold
with which
he conspires
to shield
the fox from hunters'
fire
